On February 24, 2025, an online cultural exchange event was successfully held at the "Liuhong·Meiwu" Education Practice Base in Liupowu Town, organized by the Publicity Department of the Yangxin County Party Committee. The event specially invited international friends from Yemen and Saudi Arabia, including Yahya, Wagdi, Yasin, and others, to participate online and share and discuss their unique cultural characteristics.
The "Liuhong·Meiwu" Education Practice Base is located at the Party-Mass Service Center of the Hui ethnic village in South Street, Liupowu Town. Since being recognized as the National Defense Education Base of Yangxin County in 2024, it has become an important platform for showcasing and inheriting the fusion culture of the Chinese nation. The base focuses on the integration of the Chinese nation, the history of South Street’s development, the Hui ethnic group, and the local customs of South Street. It has set up a dedicated team for historical documentation and is committed to creating the "South Street Unity Hall" and preparing the compilation of the history of South Street Village, aiming to preserve nostalgia, highlight local features, and promote the traditional culture with a local flavor.
In addition, the base has also built a cultural and sports plaza and landmark for public education, leveraging the excellent performance of students from the South Street Hui ethnic village who won the "2021 Yao Foundation Hope Primary School Basketball Season National Championship." The base integrates the "Eight Scenic Views of Meiwu" and the "Eight Folk Arts of Meiwu," and has created a 100-square-meter cultural wall themed on strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community. These initiatives not only enrich the cultural life of local residents but also promote unity and harmony among different ethnic groups in terms of ideals, beliefs, emotions, and culture. Together, they have helped build a shared spiritual home.
The successful hosting of this online cultural exchange event not only showcased the achievements of the "Liuhong·Meiwu" Education Practice Base in cultural inheritance and innovation but also provided international friends with a window into Chinese rural culture and ethnic unity. Through such activities, the event deepened local residents' sense of identity and pride in their own culture, promoted exchange and understanding among different cultures, and made a positive contribution to building a harmonious society and advancing the development of cultural diversity.
