本周我们来学习与公众形象相关的词汇
1. exude/ɪg'zjuːd/
v. 充分显露; 展现
exude confidence; charm; elegance 展现自信；魅力；优雅
e.g. In conversation she exudes wit and self-confidence.
e.g. A smiley-face person exudes phoniness, which will quickly be picked up by the interviewer.
补充：phoniness n. 虚假
2. air /eə/
n. 神态;感觉;
搭配：an air of … 一股…的神态；气质
e.g. His speech carried an air of authority, convincing everyone in the room of his expertise.
e.g. Despite his casual attire, he maintained an air of professionalism throughout the meeting.
补充：casual attire 休闲装; 便服
短语补充：
put on airs / give yourself airs 摆架子；态度傲慢
e.g. She's very rich, but she doesn't give herself airs.
e.g. I don’ t like people who put on airs just to impress others.
3. confidant /'kɒnfɪdænt/
n.[可吐露隐私的]知己，密友
e.g. She is my trusted confidant, someone with whom I feel safe sharing my secrets.
e.g. I’ve always relied on my best friend as my confidant. She knows everything about me.
v. confide 吐露或倾诉秘密
confide in someone about…向某人倾诉
e.g. I feel comfortable enough to confide in her about my worries.
e.g. He confided his troubles to a friend.
4. get-together
n. 非正式的社交聚会; 小聚
e.g. She's hosting a get-together for her classmates.
e.g. It was just a casual get-together, nothing too fancy.

gathering 集会；聚会；
meetup 聚会;尤其是以兴趣为基础的团体。
e.g. I see my cousins only at occasional family gatherings.
e.g. I’m excited about the book club meetup next week; I’ve been looking forward to it all month.
