从日常生活的“有格之物”到近来的新作,孙逊延续着很好的创作状态,且投入了更大的工作量,有一种反复琢磨、深挖细掘的玩味劲。

这种玩味首先是题材的选择与意义的错置。民间戏人、戏台及垂幔幕布,幽然而艳丽,在时光的淘洗汰变中、在挤压平叠的空间里,依然透出直面逼视的魅力,亦古亦今,大戏一直在上演。古物珍宝光彩熠熠,招财宝船寓意吉祥,盆花奇石文人幽赏,亦雅亦俗,显然都是好物件,但当抽离现实语境,尺寸与背景加以变换,色层积叠微妙,色域对比鲜明,此物为何物?大可琢磨。

孙逊的“琢磨”既是创作状态与生活感受的自然流露,更是艺术语言本体的自觉锤炼。凝厚是油画材质之美,但当流动而持续的时间渗入其间,个体的感悟进一步催化发酵,它们相互交织、进退沉浮,呈现出的是真实重塑还是幻象显影?是存在的必然还是偶发的机缘?不宜言说,唯可确定的是,孙逊乐在其中。
厚植根柢,养蓄大器,斯谓之君子乎?

This refinement begins with the choice of subject matter and the subversion of meaning. Folk opera figures, stages, and draped curtains, haunting yet vivid, endure the erosion of time and the compression of layered spaces, retaining their piercing allure. They bridge past and present, as the grand play forever unfolds. Ancient treasures shimmer with splendor; auspicious treasure ships brim with symbolism; scholar’s rocks and potted flowers evoke literati contemplation. These objects straddle the line between elegance and mundanity, yet when stripped of their original context, rescaled, and recontextualized with subtle chromatic layers and stark contrasts—what are they? A riddle to ponder.

Sun Xun’s “Contemplate & Create” is both an organic outpouring of his creative ethos and lived experience, and a disciplined sharpening of artistic language itself. The material beauty of oil paint lies in its density, yet when flowing, persistent time seeps into its layers, catalyzing personal reflections that intertwine, rise, and fall. Is this a true reshaping or an illusion’s revelation? A necessity of existence or a stroke of serendipity? Words falter. What is certain is Sun Xun’s joy in the act itself.
To nurture roots and cultivate greatness—is this not the essence of nobility?

孙 逊Sun Xun
1970 出生于贵州省麻江县;
1990 毕业于中央美术学院附中;
1994 毕业于中央美术学院油画系一画室,获学士学位。
1996 毕业于中央美术学院油画系,师从靳尚谊先生,获硕士学位;任教于中央美术学院附中;
2004 结业于中央美术学院首届油画高级研修班;任中央美术学院附中常务副校长;
2007 毕业于中央美术学院,师从靳尚谊、邵大箴先生,获首届实践类博士学位;
现任教于中央美术学院油画系,教授,博士生导师。中国油画学会理事,艺委会委员。
1970Born in Majiang County, Guizhou Province, China.
1990Graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA).
1994Graduated from the Oil Painting Department (Studio One) of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), earning a Bachelor’s degree.
1996Received a Master’s degree from the Oil Painting Department of CAFA under the mentorship of Jin Shangyi. Began teaching at the Affiliated High School of CAFA.
2004Completed the first Advanced Oil Painting Research Program at CAFA. Appointed Executive Vice Principal of the Affiliated High School of CAFA.
2007Earned a Ph.D. (Practice-based) from CAFA under the guidance of Jin Shangyi and Shao Dazhen.
Current PositionsProfessor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Oil Painting Department of CAFA; Council Member and Academic Committee Member of the China Oil Painting Society.
