2月20日，福建省龙岩市武平县教育局对外发布消息称，决定自即日起在全县范围内实施小学生“作业熔断机制”。即：小学生若至晚上9点30分仍未完成家庭作业，请孩子停止作业并及时就寝，以保证充足睡眠。
The Wuping County Education Bureau, located in Longyan city, Fujian province, has decided that starting this Thursday, all elementary school students in the county must stop their homework by 9:30 pm to ensure they get enough rest for their overall well-being.
武平县教育局称，该项举措是根据国家、省、市有关减轻中小学生课外负担的相关规定和教育部有关中小学生“五项管理”工作要求，为了更好地促进学生身心健康成长，避免孩子因长期超负荷学习而消磨学习兴趣和成长自信。
给家长的致信中，武平县教育局称，孩子在第二天上交作业时向老师说明情况即可，未完成部分无需补做。老师根据情况及时作出调整，开展分层教学，助力孩子更有效地学习。
It said that this measure aims to promote the healthy development of students, both physically and mentally, and to prevent them from losing interest in learning or confidence in their growth due to excessive academic pressure. Students can explain their situation to their teachers when submitting assignments the following day, and any incomplete work will not need to be made up. Teachers will adjust their approach accordingly to help students learn more effectively.
武平县教育局表示，教育是一场家校社携手的旅程，缺一不可。请家长朋友关注孩子学习过程和身心状态，加强与学校沟通，共同为孩子营造良好学习成长环境，避免孩子为赶作业而敷衍了事。
“让我们共同努力，培养孩子良好学习习惯和时间管理能力。引导孩子树立正确的学习观念，认识到健康生活的重要性，支持孩子参加有益身心健康的活动。”武平县教育局表示。
