中国黑色素瘤发展史
2005年12月，国内首个肾癌和黑色素瘤专科病房成立，郭军教授担任主任，一共14张病床，5位医生也成为国内第一批黑色素瘤的专科医生。
2007年5月11日，由中国临床肿瘤学会（CSCO）组织的国内第一次恶性黑色素瘤专家会议在杭州召开，在此次会议上，成立了中国临床肿瘤学会恶性黑色素瘤专家委员会。
2012年6月，郭军教授成为第一个登上ASCO舞台发言的中国黑色素瘤学者。
2017年9月15日，CSCO黑色素瘤专家委员会青年委员会（CSCO Melanoma Youth Committee，CMYC）在武汉正式成立。
2019年1月5日，第二届CSCO黑色素瘤专家委员会在上海成立。
2025年3月15日，第三届CSCO黑色素瘤专家委员会在北京成立。
现在，北京大学肿瘤医院黑色素瘤中心已在亚洲处于领先地位。
这个团队，始载于建立于2005年底，成立之初，作为科室创建人的郭军教授当年去美国参加ASCO大会的时候，被国外同行开玩笑似的说：你们中国对黑色素瘤领域基本就是零贡献！听完之后，郭军教授脸上虽未动声色，但暗暗紧咬牙关，发誓要改变这种现状。
自此后，郭军教授带领全科同志，从规范诊疗做起，结合亚洲人群的特殊性，锚定国际热点，开展有中国特色的临床研究，包括大部分研究者发起的临床研究，同时狠抓转化性研究，做到基础和临床有机结合，一步一步踏踏实实的耕耘……，其实这个科室并没有多大的规模，也就医生17名，研究人员3名，护士21名，床位也仅仅32张，但却培养了一大批国内知名的优秀中青年学者，如斯璐、盛锡楠、崔传亮、孔燕等。
建科17年，17年磨一剑，目前该科室在历年ASCO大会上代表中国已获得5次黑色素瘤大会口头报告，在国内所有瘤种的研究中位居前列。科室作为国内外牵头PI领导的临床试验，也已经让国内外9种抗肿瘤新药获得国家药监局批准上市，目前在研项目近50项……
继2021年郭军教授被推选为国际黑色素瘤协会Melanoma World Society（MWS）的副主席之后，2022年再次被推举担任欧洲肿瘤年会（ESMO）黑色素瘤与皮肤肿瘤分会场主席，是欧洲肿瘤年会黑色素瘤与皮肤肿瘤成首个当选的非欧洲籍教授。
