A press center for China's annual sessions of its top legislature and political advisory body, known as the "two sessions", opened at the Media Center Hotel in Beijing on February 27, 2025. The third session of the 14th National People's Congress and the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will kick off on March 5 and March 4, respectively.

全国两会是对1978年以来每年召开的中华人民共和国全国人民代表大会会议和中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会会议的统称，也就是我们平时说的全国人大会议和全国政协会议。由于这两个会议会期基本同步，而且对国家运转都非常重要，故简称为全国两会。
全国人民代表大会是最高国家权力机关，它的常设机关是全国人民代表大会常务委员会。全国人民代表大会和全国人民代表大会常务委员会行使国家立法权。全国人民代表大会由省、自治区、直辖市、特别行政区和军队选出的代表组成，各少数民族都应当有适当名额的代表。中国人民政治协商会议是中国人民爱国统一战线的组织，是中国共产党领导的多党合作和政治协商的重要机构，是中国政治生活中发扬社会主义民主的重要形式，是社会主义协商民主的重要渠道和专门协商机构，是国家治理体系的重要组成部分和具有中国特色的制度安排。两者都是每年举行一次会议，每届任期都是五年。
